Everyone is shopping online. You're still skeptical...what if my credit card number gets given out...what if the clothes don't fit right? Though it's scary to think that with a click you are spending money, internet shopping can be fun and easy! Cast your worries aside! Internet shopping may very well be the wave of the future, but that future is here to stay. Learning how to be internet and shopping-friendly can have many benefits. It is important to learn how to get online and get shopping.

So just what can you buy online? You can buy just about anything online from an insurance policy to a new book. It all depends where you look, and how knowledgeable you are about the internet and what it can do for you.

The first step is simply to get on the internet. If you are already on, then you're half way there. If not, purchase a computer with a modem and choose an internet carrier. Many such as AOL offer a monthly rate (about twenty dollars) that you pay for unlimited usage. Your computer may already have internet carrier start-up software on it, so be sure to look for it and ask your local computer store about the best choice for you.

The best way to search for what you want online is to go to a search engine. You do not necessarily have to type the word "books", for example, in. Many search engines have "channels" or "best-of-the-web" guides that will offer you the best deals. If you do plan to use a search engine to find, for example, books, then you must be specific. What is the title of the book you want, and who is the author? Type all of that information into the search engine and be as specific as possible. This will ensure you are using your online time effectively.

You can also search for your favorite stores online. Most likely they're name followed by a dot com will be sufficient. Many major stores are already online and offer online shopping. If you are using a specific internet company, many of them offer shopping guides as well.

Also be prepared to save a lot of money shopping online. Since not everyone is online yet and the market is growing, many companies offer discounts on selected items. Some businesses will give you discounts depending on your internet carrier.

Once you have found what you are looking for, it's time to get out your credit card and stop fretting. Most companies offer a "secure" system, which means that your credit card information is in a safe place. Usually shipping is anywhere from 1-6 weeks, and you may or may not be charged for it. If something isn't right with your merchandise, returns can be handled easily. Most stores do it for free, too!

The best part of shopping is doing just that...shopping. If you don't like a price on one web site, the competitor is just a click away! Think of all the gas money and time you'll be saving-- all thanks to a little bit of technology!
